GLOSSARY TERM
High-Volume Low-Pressure (HVLP) Sprayer
A type of paint sprayer that uses low pressure to atomise paint, reducing overspray and waste.
INFO
What it is
An HVLP sprayer uses a high volume of air at low pressure to atomise paint. The gentler air pressure produces a soft, controllable spray pattern with less bounce-back.
Why it matters
Lower pressure means less overspray and waste, and better control for detailed or fine work. It transfers more of the paint onto the surface, which is efficient and cleaner.
Where it is used on a project
Well suited to fine and detailed work such as windows, doors, furniture, and joinery, where control and finish quality matter more than raw speed.
How NECC approaches it
We choose between HVLP and airless equipment to suit each task, using HVLP for fine, controlled work to achieve a high-quality finish with minimal overspray.
